Sabin Orr
Welcome! On June 24th 2009, I suffered a Stroke that was the Genius behind this spawning! Here, people can stay in tune with my recovery, make comments to me and each other, share ideas, get involved with fundraiser events, upload and view pictures, make a donation, or just give positive support. This has been such a tragic experience, but the response of friends has been overwhelming. It makes me feel so special that so many people care about the state of my well being. I have a long road to climb and make headway each and every day. Your notes, prayers, and good wishes via email, text, and facebook really gives me strong support in such a positive inspiration. I am lucky to be surrounded by so many caring individuals. Thank You ALL!
(A very special BIG Thanks to Katie McGovern for getting this started!!! Thx Katie:)

Dear Sabin and everyone involved in his recovery,
Since the moment I joined in on this adventure of building this site with Sabin, I have learned so much. Mainly, I have learned how truly deserving he is of all the great things about to unfold in his life. He has been nothing but positive about life, grateful for his friends and family, and fully dedicated to his recovery. It has been my pleasure working with him. I know that all of your donations; whether they be in the form of a kind word, prayer, insight, joke, photo, phonecall, or money…. are all greatly appreciated by him. Thank you to everyone helping Sabin’s cause. And thank you Sabin for allowing me to get to know you so much better. It has been such a pleasure friend. Cheers to your future, how exciting!

Wow! This really hits home man. I didn’t hear about this until you sent the e-mail out. It’s so crazy and insane that this can happen to you. Amy and I really wish you the best for a speedy recovery. The good news is that there are plenty of golf courses here in Florida so you can come down and play golf sometime! This website is a great place to keep updates on. We’ll be thinking about ya brotha!

Sabe –
Bro – Kim and my thoughts and prayers are with you. It’s still shocking to me that a young and seemingly healthy guy can be stricken with such a life-changing condition. It definitely puts things into perspective and will make me look at life a little differently from this point on.
Continue to get better and I hope to see you soon.

Thank you for the note! I know it is all pretty shocking cause I am only 33 and seemingly healthy. Crazy. I am learning a lot about my health now from all these tests. More updates to come!

Hey Sabin, this is a great thing you are doing with this website. I can only imagine how frustrating the process has been with all the tests and no diagnosis, but with time I am sure they will find out what has caused all of this. I know I have said this before, but if there is anything you need, just give me a call and I will be there (especially when you are ready to go golfing, haha). Keep your head high and your spirit higher!
You are a great man and I am lucky to have you as a friend. Here’s to a quick recovery!

Sabe,
Bro this is unbelievable. I just got your email and am completely stunned and somewhat at a loss of words. I’m so glad you were able to get the help when you did, even if they jacked you around for a while. Really puts life in a different perspective. Each and every day is precious and the friends and family you have in your corner will hopefully make everything easier. You are definitely in my thoughts as well as Bridget and little Breckins and will continue to be. Stay strong as I know you will.
Much Love!
Colby

Sabin – I’ve been involved in the development of an interventional stoke service at the hospital I work for. As much as I know about stroke, the idea of it happening to someone I love completely blew me away. I am so glad you are on a solid road to recovery!

Sabin,
We are Colby’s family – it has been a quite a few years since we have seen you, but Colby mentions you often. We are so sorry to hear about your health issues. I urge you to stay positive – being a cancer survivor of almost 6 years, I firmly believe this frame of mind gets you through times you never thought you could survive. Putting all your results out here is good – I think you can never ask too many questions when it is your health on the line. Continue to stay on top of all the tests, what they are for and what your docs are looking for. You are young and strong Sabin, and I know you will give this thing a fight. We are thinking of you here in Litchfield.

Sabin,
I heard about your stroke, but just now got the time to sit and read your story. Wow. I can’t believe all you went through and you managed to tell it with a sense of humor! Your positive and upbeat attitude will make this struggle so much easier, I’m sure. You will be in my prayers and I’ll check back for updates on your condition. Hopefully you’ll get some answers soon. Hang in there.

Sabin,
I am so sorry to hear that you went through this!!!!! I am very involved with stroke prevention and awareness as I work for a company that makes a drug for secondary stroke awareness. I got really involved in stroke prevention when one morning I woke up went to the gym as normal, picked up the weights to do shoulder raises and could not lift even a 5lb weight with my left arm. This came within a year of finding out I have a PFO in my heart which puts me at increased risk of a stroke. I went to the neurologist and he believed it was not related to a tia or stroke but I have my doubts. About 3 months later I started to recover strength in my left arm. I am going to forward you information on to my neurologist down here in Austin who specializes in stroke treatment. You will be in my prayers!!!!

Hi Sweetie, Sorry it has taken so long to get in touch with you, but I have been absorbing the upsetting news. I was shocked when Justin told me what had happened to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers, I have been remembering things in the past with all the “Alton Bunch”, I can laugh now about all the things that went on in my home while I was away. ha…Keep your head up, you have a wonderful support team with you, your friends all love you and I am sure will do anything and everything to help you through this rough time. You are a special young man, take care.
Love ya,
Momma Pam

Sabin,
Through Chicago United I just received an e-mail about you. Thank you for being inspirational and keeping your spirits up. You were my photographer for the Business Leader of Color 2007 publication. Although it was a short meeting time, and a couple of years ago, I remember what a nice time I had shooting the photos with you. And I think you did a fantastic job!
Wishing you only the best.

I missed your golf tournament fundraiser this weekend. Unfortunately, I had to work, and was not able to get out of my house pretty much all weekend. If you’re in town, give me a call so that maybe I can catch you before you head back to Las Vegas.

I hope you had a great fundraiser and raised a ton of money! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make it, but I sent a g.c. for Harry Caray’s. Hopefully someone will enjoy it! Hope you’re finding some answers soon!
